Entomology

Entomology, the study of Insects (the most fascinating creature on the planet earth which has seen the rise and fall of the Dinosaurs) is one of the important courses of Agricultural sciences.

This subject deals with the internal and external morphology of insects in addition to the taxonomy in the first year and during the second year, the students are exposed to the different pest management practices available for the management of insects in an ecologically feasible and economically possible manner.

During the third year, the students are exposed to the management of pests in agriculture and horticulture and different tools to curb the menace of the insects in standing crops and also in the storage godowns.

The students of entomology are benefitted not only in learning the theoretical part of entomology but also in the practical handling of insects, maintenance of insectary, and rearing the insects to understand the insect lifecycle.

The entomology department of Agricultural College, Rajamahendravaram is a constituent department of the college and catering to the needs of Undergraduate students since 2008.
